NVQ Level 2 Accounting

This is designed for learners wishing to gain a qualification in Accounting at Level which would then open a career pathway in Accounting.

Learners who undertake this programme usually hold the following types of job roles, accounting assistant, payroll clerk, ledger clerk or accounts co-ordinator.

The programme is assessed by gathering evidence of competent performance in existing areas of activity and delivery of taught sessions for learners wishing to expand their existing areas of activity.  The qualification has one mandatory unit:

            Maintain day books,  prepare ledger balances and extract a trial balance

In addition to the above learners must complete two other units from the following list:

            Process ledger transactions and prepare control accounts
            Make journal entries and adjustments and produce a revised trial balance
            Process nominal ledger transactions (Computerised)
            Carry out stock control processes (Computerised)
